Church Fund $22,000. ‘The annual meeting of the Hcclesi- astical seciety of the Congregational church was held Saturday afternoon. Wiiliam I ‘Allyn was chairman the report of the secretary and treasurer, Isaac G. Geer was read and accepted. W. I. Aliyn, Billings T. Avery and John M. Gray were elected church committee. Isaac G. Geer was chesen secreiary and treasurer. Several new members were voted in. Albert W. Kinmouth was chosen sexton of the cburch. The church is in a flourish- ing condition financially, having a fund of over $22,000 to draw from. Sheep Damage Again. Selectmen Charles A. Gray and Joseph E. Holdridge, together with A. Douglas of Sterling and James E. Lord of Stonington, were called this week again to Lafayette Main’s to ap- prise sheep damage and since the selectmen met Mr. Gray has received another letter from Mr. Main and the selectmen will have to go again. Thimble Club Meets. The Ledyard Thimble club met with Mrs. S. E. Holdridge Tuesday after- noon. Nearly all the members were present and there were several guests. Refreshments were served at the close. The next meeting will be held with Mrs. Isaac G. Geer. Mrs. Florence Spafford of Glaston- bury is staying with her aunt, Mrs. Olin H. Avery, who is not very well. Donation it to Parsonage. The Ladies' Aid_ society gave a supper at the parsonage Friday eve- ning, which was well patronized. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weiman and daughter have moved from New Hampshire into the house of Mr. Weiman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R Weiman. Evangelist Smith in Florida. Evangelist Albany Smith has just completed a month's evangelistic ser- vices at Pensacola, Florida. Seven hundred and forty persons were con- verted during the series of meetings. The temple built for the meetings had 2 debt of over one thousand dollars on it. on March 27th. At the closing ser- vice it was deemed best to trv and lift the debt, hence pledges of $25 each wera called for. When the sum had reached $450, Oscar E, Morrell, a prominent citizen of Pensacola, who was. present at this meeting, arose, and pledged the balance due the tem- ble, thus clearing it of the debt. Mx.
