Tuesday afternoon a large touring car on top of which was a gaudily dressed monkey swung around the curve at Bliss’ bridge with such speed that the animal lort his balance and landed in Beaver brook, pond. The monkey struggled to the shore and started at a lively gait up the Pauti- paug Hill road. When the driver. of the car discovered his companion beating it he turned his machine and pursued the monk. A sharp whistle from the driver brought the culprft to a sudden halt, and when reached he was given a blanket and placed in the machine. The driver claimed the monkey was a pet and had been especiaily trained and that it belonged on an estate in the south. The owner of the car was on his way to New York.
