Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Clark were guests at Poquonock Thankssiving day. 5 Dogs Raid Flock. On Thanksgiving day dogs entered the flock of sheep belonging to Calvin R. Main end did much damage. Some were killed, others bitten and some he cannot find. They were valuable sheep. Mr. Main had purchased a valuable ram from Michigan which was among the number. The two dogs were iden- tified Thursday by Mrs. Charles A. Gray. Sclectman Bverett Barnes' of Preston came and took the dogs away and disposed of them. Both belonged in Preston and the owners wlill have to sette the Dills. Various Items. Mr, and Mrs. Olin H. Friday evening was Neighbors’ night at the grange and also a celebration of the golden jubilee of the grange, the official birthday of which “was Dec. 4, 1866. P. Norman. Funeral of Mrs. W. H. Hillard. The death of Mrs. William Horace Hlliard occurred at her home in this village Tuesday evening, after a ten days’ iligess, following an attack of cerebral hemorrhage. ~ Mrs. Hillard, who was Mary Elizabeth _ Chapman, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. D. F. Chap- man, was born in New London, July 22, 1854. She is survived by her mother, a brother and a sister. Her husband diefl in 1908. She was prom- Inent in social and church affairs and had been for many years a corres- pondent for local newspapers. She will be much missed among a wide circle of friends. The funeral was held Friday afternoon in the Baptist church, she having been a member of that church. The services were conducted by Rev.
