Patrick T. Quinn, general superin- tendent of the Thames River Lumber Co., for whom Grove is alleged to have obtained lumber to the value of $570, occupied the witness stand during-the greater part of the forenoon session and he was followed by Town Clerk John C. Turner. An adjournment of one hour was takem 1.15 and the hearing was resumed Tuesday after- noon. * Quinn testified that he was first in- troduced to Grove ‘about Aug. 1, by a man named Mulinsky. The latter made- the statement at the time, he said. that Grove proposed to take an option on <come property and build several houses. 'Several meetings be- tween the witness. and. Grove followed at intervals in the six weeks. On_cross examination Quinn admit- | ted that an agreement was drawm:up for the sale of a quantity-of lumber to Grove, as the owner of a tract of land in Conpecticut avenue-in New Lon- dov, The agreéement was later - re- vised at the suggestion of Grove.
