The flight .was very satis- factory and the machine came up to the expectations of the builders. Some- time ago the hydro-aerdplane engine was tried out on the Thames and it was found at that time that there were a.few minor details to be looked after before the flight could be made. Monday afternoon David McCullach, pilot and instructor at the Wannama- ker Aerial Patrol School, came to Norwich to take the hydro-aeroplane ts first flight. His time was and he wis only able to take the machine up a few times. The machine was taken down the Thames and the flights were made over the river. The engine worked perfectly from the start and the hydro-aero- plane made fully ninety miles an hour. Pilot McCullach says it is the fastest hydro-aeroplane he has ever driven and he was much pleased with it. The machine which has been bullt for the navy has several original fea- tures which makes it of especial value for navy use, The hydro-aeroplane is cquipped with one four-biaded propel- lor and two 150 h, p. engines. It weighs about threec thousand pounds and is very strongly built., The trial trip on Monday proved highly suc- cessful. Pilot McCullach is an expert flyer and made excellent landings. Most soaps and prepared_shampoos contain too much alkalf, which is very injuricus, as it dries the scalp and makes the hair brittle. You can get this at any drus store, and a few ounces will last the whole family for months. Simply moisten the hair with water and rub it in, about a teaspoonful is all that is required.
