Saturday afterncon the two Junior and thme -classes of _the Fitchville Baptist Church _Sunday school held a picnic at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bdwin Wheeler. Starkey and Marian Starkey of New Britain are at_the Prospect house for a few daye. Miss Pearl, local postmistress, is suf- fering with a broken arm. Miss Esther Welles broke the bones in her right wrist last Thursday. She went to Hartford and had the fracture reduced, then to Saybrook, where she will spend the remainder of the sum- mer. “Miss Abbie Fulier has returned from a visit with friends in Boston. Mrs. E. Much sympathy is felt for Mr. Boose. During the thunder storm recently two of his cows were killed by lightning. Pastor’s First Anniversary. Junc 25 completed Mr. Davies’ first year's pastorate in Westminster. " NORWICH BULLETIN, SATURDAY, JULY 8, 1916 ' EASTFORD Parade, Races, Contests, Games and Fireworks on the Fourth—Ribbons for the Winners. The Fourth here was spemt in a very pleasing and sensible manner, without an accident except a few burnt fingers. The affair was planned by Rev. A. F. Linscott and Stanley Kelley of Camp Eastford. At 10 o'- cloc there was a parade led by the Indian chief, Rev. A. F. Linscott; fol- lowed by fife, John Whitford, of Chaplin; drub, Geo. Fox; bugle, Philip Voorhis; next came Uncle Sam rid- ing on donkey, followed by boy scouts of Eastford, Camp Eastford Boys, wagons and automobiles. Miss Mary Green recelved a blue ribbon for the best float. Miss Green represented Liberty rid- ing on a high seat on a decorated ox wagon. jber wagon.
