New Haven, Conn., July 3.—Follow- ing the receipt of a telegram from the war department directing the Yale batteries to proceed to the camp at Tobyhanna, Pa., as soon as possible, the battalion headquarters tonight an- nounced that enrollment in the bat- teries had been thrown open to “any specially qualified men,” not necessari ly Yale men. The batteries need about 100 men, it was explained, and this action was taken to try to secure them before the departure for camp, which is expected to be the latter part of the week.
