Ten Per Cent. to Depositors In The Thames Loan and Trust Commer- | cial Department—Is Second Divi dend in This Department—James L. Case and Frank W. Browning Nam- ed For Appraisers in Norwich Paper Mills Receivership. Rain; northwest At the short calendar and motion list_session of the superior court here on Friday morning, Judge William L. Bennett passed an order on the appli- cation of Receiver A. A. Browning for the payment of a 10 per cent. div- idend to depositors in the commercial department of the Thames Loan & Trust Co, ; This will be the second dividend to the commercial department depos- itors and the amount to be disbursed by it is $24,947.31. The court order directs the receiver to pay the divi- dend as soon as practicable after the date of the order from the avails of assets of the commercial department of the Trust Co. There was no opposition to the or- der. The receiver has already paid one 25 per cent. dividend to the com- mercial department depositors which amcunted tc $62,790.16, and now has on hand from which to pay the 10 per cent. dividend the sum of $91,963.52, | over and above what has been set aside for savings departments. In the matter of the Thames Loan & Trust also the petition of John F. Corcoran was allowed to be allowe< dividends in the savings departmert such as have already been declared or may be declared in the future. Mr. Corcoran’s deposit is $251. claimed that he did not receive any notice from the bank about proving his claim and when he asked for his money he was told he had better see a lawyer. Thomas Browning, bookkeeper in the bank tcld the court that to his best knowledge Mr. Corcoran had been notified like all the rest of the depositors, and Judge Bennett _re- marked that there seemed to be some carel ness on_ Mr. Corcaran's part ag he had lived in this city ‘all the time. Receiver Browning told the court_that similar claims had been a- lowed to come in for a dividend. At- torney Joseph T. Fanning appeared for Mr. Corcoran. Second order of notice was directed in the divorce case af Joseph Backet against Mary Backet. In the receivership matter of the Norwich_ Paper Mills, Inc, in which Albert S. Comstock Is the receiver, James L. Case and Frank W. Brown- ing were appointer apbraisers. X Canadian Skater at Park. i Visitors to Mohegan park this after- noon will have a chance to see Albert Barry, at one time a trick and fancy skater, instructor in Canada, now re- siding at Taftville, who will give an exhibition of his feats, if the ice per- mits. He will do his skating on three different pairs of skates, all of a differ- ent make. Mr. Barry would also like to competo with any Norwich man on the ice.- This event ought to prove in- teresting to local skating fans. Pretty Lighting Effect for Windows.
