What Ja Going On Tonight Vaugevile and nm-xam -tn® A‘Mn: “u'um Colontal Thoatre. ANNOUN(IMENTS p)d filled sla.le& any Thursdey, Sl.t\u'dty. Bufnhun‘l.‘ 237 The vegular guarterly meeting of Qraduate Nurses' association of Connecticut is to be held at 34 Charter Ozak s%enue, Hartford, Nov. 3d, at 2.30 ». m. The Nursing League of Educa- tion also holds its semi-annual meet- ing at the Hartford hospital on that date, when the new method of caring for contagion will be demonstrated. The league has invited the G. N. A. to attend this demonstration at 11 a. m. DAVIS THEATRE. Complete Change of Photo Plays To- day—Dr. Rameau, Fox Featurs and a Big Keith Vaudeville Attraction. ‘Theve will be a complete change of photo plays at this theatre today and the feature is a big Iox production, calied Dr. Rameau. ‘With a cast headed by Frederick Perry, star of New York's most dra- matic success, On Trial, supported by a cast including Dorothy Bernard, George Allison, Stuart iHolmes, Edith Halier and Jean Southern, Dr. Ra- meau, the William Fox five act su- perb dramatic production which is be- ing shown at the Davis theatre to- day and Saturday, may lay just claim 10 an all star cast. The character ot Dr. Rameau is a complex one, and the masterly interpretation that Mr. Perry gives the part is one which will be remembered as one of the most impressive bits of acting ever wit- nessed. In one of the scenes Dr. Ra- meau is about to perdofm a delecate operation. Not satisfled with faking the scene, Mr. Perry obtained the permission of the authorities of a well known New York hospital to be present at a real operation of the same nature. As a result the scene is startling in its realism, every de- tail being supervisegd by a physician and is absolutely correct. The vaudeville attraction is Peter- son, Dick and Morrison, a trio of young'men who have excellent voites and they put over one of the finest singing acts ever heard here. Mutual Movies and comedies com- plete the show. Matinee as usual at 2.30, ali seats 10 cents, children § cents. Concert orchestra at every performance. COMING TO THE DAVIS NEXT WEEK. Hall Caine’s Immortal Novel and Play, ‘The Eternal City.” For next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the management of the Davis has booked Hall Caine's im- mortal novel and play, The Eternal City, with Pauline Frederick, playing the Tlead. Produced amid the granduer’and bheauty of modern Rome, under the di- rection of Edwin S. Porter and Hugh Ford. This amazing nhoto spectacle marks a new era in dramatic pictur- ization. For the first time in the history of motion pictures the Vatican Gardens, the Coliseum, St. Peter’s, the Castle of St. Angeio’s, and many other historic and impressive spots in the Imperial city have been used as setfings for a screen production. No summary of bare facts can ad guately deecribe the astounding pow- er and charm of the subject. The pic- torial version of Hall Caine’s thrilling romance presents the stirring incidents and climaxes, the nobility and tragidy, the elements of love and betrayal and the beautiful ideals and humanities of the original plot, with a wider range, in truer colors and with bolder strokes than were possible in the novel or play, and will therefore render the In- spiring story its greatest measure of immortality. A specially engaged orchestra of 12 -neues has been engaged to play for picture and no one should miss lhls wonderful picture. Time and prices will remain the same. AT THE AUDITORIUM. Viola Dana, Star Paramount Fea- ture, “House of the Lost Court.” Besides the big illusion act pre- sented by Prince Kar-Mi and his Ori- ental Troupe for today and tomorrow the management has secured the fa- mous Paramount preduction, “The House of the Lost Court,” taken from Mrs. C. Williamson’s novel of the same name. With comparative infrequency &oes “outside” company succeed in play~ ing one of its productions on the Paramount programme with those of the old established feature fillm pro- ducers whose pictures comprise it. On Friday and Saturday, however, the Edison company will present at the Auditorium its multipie reel screen adaptation of Mrs. C. N. Willjamson's novel, “The House of the Lost Court.” Viola Dana (the late star of the stage production of Eleanor Gates' play, The Poor Little Rich Girl) is the featured player and Ler performe ance is delightful. The supporting cast is composed of such well-known players as Gertrude McCoy, Mrs. Wallace Erskine, Sally Crute and Helen Strickland among the women, and Robert Conmess, Duncan McRae (grother of Bruce McRae) and Will- iam West among the men. The story, familiar to Mrs. . Will- iamson’s many admirers, is unusu- ally well told. It has about it .the twists of situation which hold the interest from beginning to end. The photography has been described by a New York critic as superb and it is in fact, as necar perfection as any vet seen in a plot film. The House of the Toat Ca“rt should " please its auli- ences. Universal photoplays will also be shown today and tomorrow. COLONIAL THEATRE. “Buppressed Evidence,” Mammoth Es- canmy Feature in Two Reels. _ One of the newest products of the ultra-modern studios, is the fenture at the Colonial theatre today. It is entitled Suppressed Evidence, massive presentation in two reels.
