tirss at Colonial T, DAVIS THEATRE. ‘Coming Next Mondgy and Tuesday, . The Rosary, Return Engagement of This Great Seven-Reel Feature—Aiso a Big Vaudeville Attractio ‘. Jfln-fioflum-mth-m lt this mutn o feature a seven-reel uuht the town by -mrm, M'Ilhlundln‘ the extremely hot ‘weather at that time, hundreds were away at every performance, un. to gain admission to this play ]Mfl\. Ever since the picture was shown here the manager has been ‘re- icelving letters from the patrons ‘of this house asking when The Rosary {would be shown here again, and if it {Would be possible to.get it back to Norwich, and the management have | pleasure’in announcing that they ha: secured The Rosary for the first two fdays of next week, and this will gh not fortunat enough to chance to The production is adapted from the well known piay by Edward E. Rose and tells the story of the many events which crowd the life of Father Kelly. In his early years his struggle be- tween the love of a girl and the call of the church is shown, while late in Iife he becomes the pivot about which & domestic tragedy revolves. His ward, a broker, unjustly suspects his of being false to him, and Father Kelly, who is visiting them when they quarrel, is at last instrumental in unit- ing them and again bringing happiness into both their lives Charles Clary makes a beautiful character out of the wh-h while Kathlyn Willlams and eeler Oakman portray the young couple in a way which makes their characters appear to really live. From start to finish the film teems with dra- matic action and its artistic treatment makes it a production which, once seen, will never be forgotten. The vaudeville attraction on this bill is The Wharry Lewis Four, a big time musical act that is one of the best in the business. They present a miniature concert programme and play several qifferent instruments, including violin, “cello and plano. For a real high class musical attraction this is one of the finest of the eeason. A selected pro- gramme of Mutual Movies completes the show. The bill today is one that will please both young and old. -The feature picture is Theda Bara, the vampire woman, in The Devil's Daugh- ter, a five-act feature that will make you think. The vaudeville is Wrestling Jim, the bear with the human brain, and if you haven't seen this act, don't let anything keep you away from the Davis today. A selected programme of Mutual Movies, scenic and comic, complete the show. VAUDEVILLE SEASON OPENS AT THE AUDITOR!UM. ‘The management of the Auditorium theatre will open their regular vaude- ville season on next Monday at the matinee performance, when an excep- tional vaudeville performance will be given, consisting of three very good acts. Not only will the Auditorium show the best of vaudeville attractions during the coming season, but will comtinue with the regular Paramount plcture programme which has been shown there so successfully during the past summer and early full making really two big shows in one, and with- out doubt the biggest and best show in the state cf Conmecticut for "!.l money. The prices, by the way, will remain as usual; matinee 10 cents and eveninge 10 and 20 cents. The feature vaugeville attraction for the first three days of next week will be DeDio's Comedy Circus, an act which is per- sonally known to the management and one which has the reputation of Deing ome of the best animal acts in the bus- iness today. In the act are six beauti- ful big collie dogs, several monkeys, a pony and a bucking mule which anyone in the audience will be given a chance to ride. The second act will be pre- sented by The Great Arlington Duo, gymnasts and slack wire walkers, and the third number on the vaudeville bill will be something entirely out of the ordinary in vaudeville when Reine, & suncing young lady, will introduce the vury latest Paris creations -in gowns, hats, etc., which will be espe- cially pleasing to the ladies. Reine also sings and is quite some impersonator. On the picture programme for Monday and Tuesday, Hazel Dawn, the capti- vating youthful star who appeared in this city in person in a big production will be featured in Daniel esentation of that fanci- Niobe, by Harry and Ed- ward A. Paulton, and produced by the Paramount Pictures corporation. The production is in four reels and is a comedy that begins threp thousand years ago and ends today.’ Other pic.- tures will also be shown and the usual three shows will be given. COLONIAL THEATRE. Mammoth Broadway Star Feature, “Through Troubled Waters,” Three Reels. It {8 unnecessary to state that a plc- ture bearing the stamp of the Vita- graph Broadway Star feature, is of the highest type, and worthy of all the praice and admiration it receives, and %0 today in offering this tkree reel feature entitied Through Troubled Wa- ters, the management of the Colonial theatre feels that every patron will appreciate that it is presenting only the best in the way of up-to-date mo- tion pictures. Ths story tells of a oung mountaineer, who writes a play for his sctress-friend. She makes a nit in if, cnd later he marries her.
