Charles Greené of New London, was a Monday visitor here. Fined For Theft. A man living In one of the Plain- field Woolen com ’s tenements, known as the “Arc: was arrested at the mill Friday. He was suspected of stealing spools of heavy string used to sew fogether cuts of cloth. He was given a trial and found wuilty. His fine of about ten dollars was paid. Funeral of Charles H. Lewis The funeral of Charles H. Lewis was held at his home on Main street, Fri- day afterroon at 3:30 o'clock. Rev. Charles Downs of Dayville, supplying pastor of the local church, officiated. Mrs. Ervin Whitehead and Mrs Charles Bragg sang “Just As I Am,” and “Rock of Ages.” Lucy Webb Hayes eircle of the Ladies of the G. A. They were accom by Mrs. Delia Hartson, They made the trip in theiz automobile. Walter Cole gave a concert at.the Congregational church last Friday eve- ning, which was a success. Addressed Surgical Association. Dr. A. B. Bowen, a native of this tow who spent his boyhood here, delivered the address at the eighth annual meeting of the Surgical associ- ation of the C. and N. W. Ry., Chicago. He is the president of the association and resides and practices medicine keta, lowa. His address has ived here by friends. EAST THOMPSON Officers and Committees Elected by W. C. T. The union was addressed by Mre, Gallup, the state secretary and cousty treasurer; also by Mrs. Fuller, the county ‘president.
