Lightning struck the house occu- pied by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gallu ‘Wednesday afternoon, and did consid- erable damage. Mr. Gallup felt the effects of the shock, but Mrs. Gallup was unhurt. If Mr. and Mrs. Gallup had not been at home there is no doubt ‘but the house would have been burned, the lightning setting fire in three places. Lappie took a jolly crowd of twenty-eight to Giant's Neck, Niantic, recently for a day’'s outing. This was the first trip this season. Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Case and children and Miss Grace Mahoney were at Hayward Lake, Sunday. Miss Alice Mahoney leaves Monday for Storgs college where she will take a two weeks’ course.
