LOSES PART OF HAND Seven Year Old Windham Center Boy Pounded Cartridge With Hammer. Tuesday afternoon, the seven year old son of George Rood, of Windham Center, had his hand partly blown off by a cartridge, which the child had procured in some unknown man- ner and was pounding on a stone with 2 hammer. The injured member was dressed temporarily by Dr. F. E. Wil- cox, after which the child was taken to St. Josephs’ hospital, where it was found necessary to amputate the thumb and first two fingers of the injured hand, as well as the first joint of the third finger. in Angry Dispute. Pete Girard was slightly injured late Monday evening, when the jitney driven by Joseph Peck, caught in a hole in the curbing, directly in front of the Holmes block, and caused the passenger to be thrown against the wind shield of the car with sufficient violence to break the glass.
