David Higgins in His Last Dollar, Par- amount Festure, Charlie Chaplin in a Funny Keystone and Three Great Acts Today. One of the finest feature photo plays even seen at this theatre is the great racing play with David Hig- gins, called His Last Dollar, a pret- ty race track and several thrilling horse races are seen throughout the production. David 'Higgins’ charact- erization of Joe Baxton, the mil- lionaire ex-jockey surpasses his im- personation in the stage version and the exciting could not be produced in the stage version is seen in this picture in all reality, everyone in this production is admirably cast for the part they por- tray and the whole production is full of interest from start to finish. In the vaudeville there are three ex- cellent acts headed by Harry Wyatt and Company. in a comedy sketch called “Nerve,” which is just one long laugh. Anthony and Adele have a neat whistling and musical novelty that is a treat to listen to, and Billy Morse, the funny blackface comedian keeps everybody happy with his songs and funny Southern storles. Another feature on today’s bill is the funny Keystone comedy, called The Mas- guerader with Charlie Chaplin, the funniest fellow that ever appeared on a screen causing more laughs than all other comedians put together. If you want to see Charlie at his best don't miss this picture. Matinees daily at 2.15, all seats 10 cents, children 5 cents. Evening at 7 and 8.45, 10 15, and 20 cents. Three complete shows daily. For the first half of next week an- other fine bill of vaudeville and Para- mount photo plays has been booked, the feature picture is John Barry- more in “The Man From Mexico,” a great comedy, and Seymore’s Canine performers is the vaudeville feature, with two other good acts. Watch Mon- day's Bulletin for particulars. A PAIR OF SIXES COMING TO DAVIS THEATRE. Explanations. Did you ever try to explain away the reason for a long, wavy, red hair growing on the collar of your coat? Did your ever feel called upon to tell why your overcoat pocket con- tained a stray palr of long-length lady's gloves? Did you ever feel yvour face getting red_when your explanations failed to explain_about that perfumed breath? All of these situations are compara- tively easy, so they say, but you just try spilling a few drops of crushed roses on your ‘waist-coat-perfume from the stenographer’s private bottle, then explain this away—if you can. And this.is about where the fun be- gins in “A Pair of Sixes”—the show that is keeping all Boston laughing and will be seen at the Davis theatre, Friday, March 19. That show I told you about last month. And talk about fun The fact that the show has run all last summer is proof of its fun-pro- voking features. You never hear of them conducting failures during the summer months. Oysters and shows have their sea- sons Any old show can run awhile in season, but it takes a play with a pearl setting to run all summer. “A Pair of Sixes” seems to catch the epirit of Tho Silent Partner, It is a living example of a dead fail- ure when men in business pull apart. And all through the lines you can ses where the violet, the rose, and the lilac meet. In all the play there is not a crude, not a rude line. The au- thor is an authority, an expert, on tangling and untanallng men and wo- men in a manner that leaves only sug- gestions—without the usual offense. The truth is, I am inclined to think most men and all women—almost all women—are much better than paint- ed. I mean to say, that two thirds of the trouble of men in business, and the better half of women in homes, is the result of lack of understanding. The writer of “A Pair of Sixes” cer- tain'y comes in the front door on this subject without “knocking.” Don't forget you want to see this show. Its a liberal business educa- tion and a liberal chance to laugh. Take vour wife, your best girl— take someone. Seats go on sale Wednesday at 10 a. m. Mall orders with remittanee can be sent in now. Prices, lower floor, $1.50, $1.00. Balcony., $1.00, 75c and '50c. Family Circle 35c. Gallery 25c. BOSTON ENGLISH OPERA CO. With All Star C The roster of the Boston English Opera Company, which comes to the Davis theatre, Tuesday, March 23rd, in “In Travatore” Verd’'s beautiful opera sung in English, is an impres- sive one. Among its members are the foremost stars on the English singing operatic stage today, includ- ing such artists as Joseph F. Sheehan, the greatest of all American tenors, Miss Mirth Carmen, one of the finest Leonoras over heard in this country; Miss Elaine De Sellem, whose char- acterization of the Gypsy hag as Azucena, is sald to be the finest plece of character acting in the annals of opera in English; Arthur Deane, the renowned English baritone, Miss Grace Doxsee, cne of America’s fore- most prima donnas, Harold J. Geis, whose beautiful bass has been heard in many of the leading operatic pro- ductions in this country, Mr. Henry Devarre, Mr. William Hamilton, Mr. Clark Harcourt, Misg Mercedes Da- amada, Miss Louise Heming, etc. AT THE AUDITORIUM. Today’s vaudeville and picture bill at this popular house makes up an ex- collent show and all those who have seen it are talking about it's excellent qualities. ILaucille Savoy presents an the race track scenes that| odd and original posing novelty, well staged and very attractive. Arthur Moris is a corking card manipulator and does some startling_tricks which are most mystifying. Johnson “and Buckley, a very clever lady and gen- tleman present a fine vaudeville num- her which includes singing, dancins, and impersonations all of which is in troduced in a very finished manner. On the picture programme today are a two reel drama, “The Lure of the ‘West,” The Animated Weekly and “Three Times and Out,” with King Baggott in the leading role. For all next week starting with the Monday matinee the management has booked another one of the Marcus Mu- sical Attractions, Inc., shows called the “Honey-Mooners. This is a real girl show and the very best of the good one and a bright, clean show for the whole family. “The Honey- mooners” is the best of the Marcus shows seen here this season and has Lou Powers and Felix Martin for the principal comedians and a real beau- ty chorus with excellent wardrobe, electrical ang scenic effects. Alto- gether it is a company of unexcelled ability In a selected list of high class plays, presenting three entirely dif- ferent shows on the week with the changes coming on Monday, Wednes- day and Friday. There will be the usual three shows daily and the prices will be matinee, 10 cents, evening 10 and 20 cents. A fine list of photoplays has been booked for Monday and Tuesday, in- cluding “The Mystery Woman,” a wildly exciting two reeler with Cleo Madison of “Trey O’'Hearts” fame in the leading role, COLONIAL THEATRE. Francis Bushmann, Appearing in “Any Woman’s Choice,” Two Reels. One of the most popular actors in the motion picture profession, is Francis X. Buskmann of the Essanay cast, who appears today at the Co- lonial theatre in _ “Any Woman's Choice,” a wonderful two reel feature deaiing with high society life. The {woman and hustand have a mutual {friend, who Is invited to enjoy their home wita them. Other splendid films for today are “The Girl at the Key,” Edison; “The Moonshine Maid and the Man,” Vitagraph, and “The Smoking Out of Belle Butts” Vitagraph, with Flora Finch. “The Girl I Left Behind Me,” is the magnifi cent military drama with Roberts Ed- eson, for Monday.
