She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Johnson and was born in Swe- den on Feb. 4, 1872. Theé greAter part of her life had been passed in this city and vicinity and for a perlod of %% years she was emploved at thé Pal- mer Brothers' quilt mill in Montville. she had not worked the past two years owing to ill health and during that time had resided with her sister, Mrs. Hansen. ¢ Heér death was due to a geneéral breakdown in heaith., Besides her mother, who also lives with Mrs, Han- sen, she leaves two sisters, . Au- gust Julstrom of Worcester and Mrs. Charles Hansen of this oity. There are also nieces and nephews. Miss Johnson was an atténdant at the Swedish church on Hickory street. She was widely known among Montville pooble and by her pleasing disposition had won many warm friends who muurn her death sincerely. Norman T. Shaffe Saturday momlnl about 5.30 o'clock Norman J. Shaffer died in this oity from Bright's disease with which he hed been affiicted for somne time past. Mr. Shaffer was born in Kingsing- ton, N. Y, on January 5, 1844 thé son of ‘George E. and Geértrude Briges Shafrer. He wa$ a coopér by trade and had followed his calling the greater part of his life.
