T I.l -mm ‘Ponemat g "%uw Mn&{o b e, ANNOUNCEMENTS ' N. E.!0, P.'meets tonight. Miss Adles explains today why there :r‘o'-o many cases of scal§ trouble. See ~ DAVIS THEATRE. William Farnum, the Celebrated Amer- ican Actor, in The Redemption of David . Corson, Special Four Part Feature, Tod-y. " For the first hl.lf of this wee:: the management of this cosy theatrs nave secured what is without a doubt one of the finest feature photoplay produc- tions ever shown in this city. When a man with_the reputation that Danfel Frohman has 'is behind a production, there is little doubt of the outcome. In the feature today Willlam Farnum, the celebrated American actor, will be seen in The Redemption of David Corson, the famous tale of a strong man’s temptation, transgression and regen- eration, a powerful story with an ap- pealing touch of the supernatural, pre- aented in four complete reels of perfect photographic art. William Farnum is well knowr throughout the ' conntry through the marked triumphs achieved in Ben Hur, The Prince of India, The Littlest Rebel, and many other suc- cessful plays. His portrayal of David Corson in the feature today certalnly adds another laurel to his already heavy crown and will mark a new era in the motion picture productions seen The other Mutual movies on this bill are The Fires of Ambition, a pow- erful two part Domino drama; the Mu- tual Weekly, No. 74, with everything of | importance portrayed in all parts ‘of the world; The Bowery Boys {8 the name of the latest Keystane comedy, | with the funmiest of all the comedians, Charles Chaplin, causing 15 minutes of continucus laughter. Messrs. Boyle and Craig have an excel- lent concert programme for today which inecludes Carmia, a beautiful soio by Rr.-Boyle; Mr. Craig will sang by request The Songs My Mother Used to | Sing, and the duet is Nancy Lee, a! rollicking s=ea s=ong that will surely make a big hit. No matter how hot it is outside, you can always depend omn it being e and cool in the Davis. - mereen AT THE AUDITORIUM. Thres Feature Acts and Seven Reels Feature Photoplays Today. It 1s hard to start to pick out the femtures ou today's bill at the Audi- torium, as there are so many, but to make a beginning we will take first the wonderful three part feature film, | Balaoo, the Demon Baboon. This pic- ture was adapted from the famous novel by Gaston Leroux, French detective author, and it deals with a sciertist who tries to educate a gigantic babdon. M. Battaile, who plays the part of the monkey, makes such a natural characterization that it is hard to believe that he is not actu- ally a monkey. This is one of the ost unusudl pictures on the mn-ket. and surprise follows surprise. You can’t imagine any! like it, as it is like ‘one of Poe’s weird conceptions. The vaudeville is headed by the Duiley Bros, who were features last year with Barnum & Bailey's-circus. These clever young men are considered the last word in head and hand bal- ancing, and you would not believe the ‘wonderful things they do unless you eaw them yourself. The most sensa- tlonal acrobats seen this year. Mabel Fatch, with her eccenfric com- edy monologue, is different than any <comed‘enne you ever saw, and she is conside,ed the funniest woman in vau- deville “Miss Hatch is a most comely young woman in everyday life, but when shs puts on her comedy makeup she looks more like Flora Finch than anything else we can think of. See her and laugn Hallen & Hayes are one of vaude- ville’s standard acts, and seasop after =eason sees them delighting the au- diences. This coinedy team know how to put over a good somg or story and thevr are the kind of act that make you. glad you came. There are none better in their line. A side-splitting comedy ganza in two parts, featuring mond & iy, is The Adwenturel Df Limbu-ger and Schweitzer, and to see these. two Dutch comedians capture Mexico is a laugh among laughs. Other films today are The Dawn of Romance, with Ethel Grandin, and A Gypsy Ro- mance, with Dot Davenport and Wally- Reid. Come early if you want a seat; always cool inside at the Auditorium. extra\'n- COLONIAL THEATRE. The Inventor's Wife, Two Reels, Fea- turing Arthur Johnson. plac ki This splendid two reel film is one of the best of the Lubin.exclusive fea- » tures that has been released.this sea- son and presents the peerless actor, Arthur Johnson. in the role of an in- Yentor of electrical appliances. He is %0 _closeiy confined with his duties in this’ direction that he unintentionally neglects his younz and pretty wife and five year old child. A female spy is emploved to find out for a rival cor- poration the secrets which the inventor holds. She visits his house and in: her wily manner draws out from him some important facts and. hastening to the factory to report, s followed. by Mhi amnua &;e'&mm As the 5.15 p. m, car Sltu!'dfl fflr Yantic was approaching Ha Corner, Lester Howard of Yantic his“balance while reashing for his hl.t which had blown off. - He fell from the car just-at the curve, striking his head against an electric pole and cutting a gdsh in his forehead. The' car coming up behind transferred its passengers to the forward ‘car and Mr. How: ind his wife were taken to Backus hospi- tal. He was found to be badly shaken up, and had a cut over the left ear, an abrasion in the forehea It thought best for him to remain over night at’the hospital, although It was not apparent that his injuries were serious.
