NEW LONDON. Science Hall the First Academic Building to be Constructed—Thomas Howe’s Plans. The first Academic building author- ized for immediate construction for the Connecticut College for Women - at New London is a Science hall, making permanent provision for labratories and lecture reoms for the biological sciences, chemistry and appiied | sciences of hygiene and dieteties, and | temporary provision for other depart- ments and for general administrative offices and library. There will be three floors each containing nine rooms. The basement floor is reserved for tem- porary college uses. The building wilt cost $110,000. Wilf Build in Spring. It has been decided by Thomas Howe to erect a brick structure on the corner of Gorden and Green streets on the site of the stable property. He pro- poses to put two stores on the Green street side of the lot and one on the Golden street side. Whether the struc- ture will be of one or three stories he has not yet decided. The walls of the baiMing will be of sufficient strength 10 carry three storjes even if but a oZe story structure is erected at the start. Mr. Howe has in contemplation the arrangement of flats on the second and third stories of the building or would lease the floors to business e terprises, but he says he will not ar- range the building for office purpo: The city has a surfeit of this sort property now he think Roxbury.—Albert Haas, a raiser of Roxbury, was held for superior court Monday upon a char: of wholesale theft of feed from Crabl’, storehouse.-in Stamford. o, "This is Guaranteed to Stop Your Cough Make thiz Family Supply of Qe TUP A eine el save $5.
