The regular monthly meeting of the board of aldermen, adjourned from Monday night, met Tuesday at 8§ p. m. and immediately adjourned to the su- perior eourt reom; as the court sten- ographer and his assistants were using the alderman’s reom. The re- port was accepted: The school superintendent's report from October 12 to November 8 show- ed an expense for that department of $945.61 and the same was accepted. A reuisition from the fire chief, Thom- s P, Foley, for wire to be used in the irm alarm system, was referred to the purchasing committee with power. The report of City Treasurer A, C. Seripture showed his receipts for the past year to have been $97,214.00 and the expenses $94,850.14, with a balance ordered published. The two streets are 10 _be named Selden and Grove streets. The report of the electric light com- mittee relative to a light at wiston avenue and Bellevue street was ac- cepted and the committee was empow- ered to erect the light. On recommendation of the eommit- tee, the petition of the New York, New Haven and Hartford railroad for a light bracket vn the footbridge on Railroad street was granted and per- mission was given for the installatien of the light. It was voted that the Ilibrary be kept open every day except Sundays and holidays from 2 to 9 p. m., on and after Dec. 1st, and that the compensa- tion of the librarian be $50 per month, The corporation counsel reported on the fee to Ann street, a matter which had been referred to him at a previous meeting, stating that George W.
