Michael Capeloni, who lives at No. i1 Division street, was a sought-for Jan on- Friday afternoon, after he had refused to stay at the Backus hospital, although he had a case of diphtheria developing, and_he was found in the cvening about 7_o'clock by Sergeant Joim H. Kane and Policeman Myron O. Morgan at the corner of Franklin and Willow street, taken in charge, and to the police station, and from there to the office of Dr. N. B. Lewis, the health officer, who had asked the police to look for him. The doctor had the automobile am- bulance summoned and Capeloni was taken in it to the Eackus hospital, where he is now a patient. The man's wife is In the hospital for | treatment. but not for diphtheria, and on Friday afternoon about 4 o'clock he went there to see her. While there he complained of a sore throat and when Dr. man- had made an investiga- tion he found that Capeloni had diph- | theria. The man was urged to stay at the hoepital, but would not agree to do | #o. Dr. Lewis was informed of the cir- cumstances and advised that the man be induced to go homie so that_the | doctor could get him there and have taken back to the hospital. to go home, but, when the doctor called for him he| found that Capeloni had not stayed at home. Scott Co.s apparatus, which includes two barges and three special drilling machines, to which the fourth will be added short- ly. The work is being done for the New Haven road as a_preliminary to the erection of the big steel bridge which will take the place of the pres- ent structure which was accepted by the state for use as a highway bridge, at the last sesslon of the general as- mbly, The purpose of the work now be- ing done by the Scott Co. s of course to determine the character of the reference to locating the piers of the mammoth bridge which will span the stream.
