Mr. Editor: Having read with in- terest your report of the proceedings of the Town School Board last even- ing, I venture to make a suggestion on the salary question. If my information is correct, more than $8000 is now paid by thé town of Norwich to its School Superintend gnt and Supervisors = Suppose that instead of réducing the pay of a few overworked teachers, a few hundrel dollars be taken from the salaries of these men and added to the salaries of the teachers on the West Side, or any section where it seems desira- ble. It is said that the West Side su- pervisor has recelved during the vear an increase of $200 in salary, while his work has lessened. This addition if divided among four West Side teach- ers would perhaps bring their salaries to the proper level. Similar_changes might be made elsewhere, None of the teachers of Norwich receive as large salaries as teachers of the same grade in neighboring cities, New Lon- don, for example, while much more is paid in Norwich for supervision. In the interests of justice. Norwich, April 15, 1913. A TAXPAYER. Takes No Stand.
