"fhe business consisted of a large drug store, groceries and frult and everything kept in a general store. The stock, amounting to $4,000 or more, was insured for only $2,000. The building; had an insurance of $1,500. The fire was discovered about 3 o'clock by Mr. and Mrs. William Clark, who I1ve across the creek. Thwy notified Mr, Williams, who lives near by. Bert Main discovered the fire about the siime time. The fire fighting apparatus ¢f the Mystic Woolen com- pany of Old Mystic did grand work until the Mystic fire department, which was called to ald, arrived, after a time succeeding 'iny extinguishing the flames. The lower story only is left standing intact. T'he stock remaining in the building wirich was not destroved by fire was about ruined by the water poured into the building by the fire compantes, while a large portion of the goods carried out doors were dam- aged by the rain. The origin of the fire is still unknown. The Late John W. Burrows. John Wheaeler Burrows, who died Sunday night at his home. was in his T4th year. He ig survived by his onlv childd, Mre. Charles H.
