New London Coun LEBANON Troop ‘B Encamped on the Green— Local Team Defeats Colchester— Lawn Social, A troop of cavalry, Company B, C. N. G, of Hartford, camped on the Green Tuesday night. There were sev. enty men and eighty horses. They broke camp Wednesday morning and started for Columbia lake, where they camped Wednesday night. Colchester Defeated. The Colchester baseball team played the Lebanons Saturday and were de- feated, 26 to 4. Elizabeth and ~Philip Luther, from Norwich Town, have been spending a few days with Mrs. 4. L. Loomis. The lawn party given by the Baptist Young People's unipn on Thursday last proved a success socially and financially. At least two hundred par- ticipated. The Jawn was attractively decorated with several birch booths, lanterns and an artistic platform which seated the musicians. Pleasing music was furnished by an orchestra under the leadership of W. H. Hutch- ins of Moosup. The table of mystery packages was the center of interest for a short time only, for one hundred and twenty bundles were sold in less than one-half hour. Candy, cake, ice cream and post cards were on sale and in addition the céntents of the bas- kets carried by the peddlers in gro- tesque array in the peddlers’ parade.
