BREED THEATER, al City 3 A promounced hit at the Breed last evening was the playing of Miss Fdith \Warshall, ‘eelMst, direct from Keith's \ijou theater, Boston, where she has )een the soloist for the last six weeks. She is exceedingly accomplished in tbe musical line and uses for her solo rpmber, La Cinquantaine, and re- sponding to an insistent encore gave My Hero as her popular number. She has the happy facuity of bringing out of her ‘callo all of its good points, and ting her number in a most fas- manner. She will change her with the regular picture ange, tomorrow, thys affording lendid variety. The pictures are of the best type and {nclude a breezy cowboy story with G. M. Anderson, and the great story, Out of the Deap, with its mervelous scenes ¢ the dotiom of the ooean. Williams Organizes Extension of City Beautiful Associa- tion—Sale of Chestnut’ Timber— Death of Mrs. James Malcomb. An_extension of the City Beautiful association has been organized under the leadership of Mrs. Winslow T. Williams., There is great need of fm- provement in the village and the plans of the new organization when carried out will add to he attractiveness of one of nature’s artistic places. It is the purpose of the society to interest the land owners and house dwellers and get their co-operation in this modern crusade. The sidewalks have been in a dangerous condition for some time. The beautiful trees set out by Erastus Winslow Williams in the yring of 1588, maples alternating with elms, t fo have attention. Ume tree is dead and some of the others need a {rimming and spraying, as the beetles have worked h: among the elms during the past two years. There is o bad plece of roadway nerth from Jones store where the gutter has been permitted to fill up, allowing no drainage, flooding the road which gives that section an unattractive ap- pearance. On Chapel Mill a sidewalk has been built on the public highway which is ve dangerous to passing teams. At the end of the car line, where no accommodation is made for the waiting public, much refuse is found 1y \ settee or some small covered shelter around the large elm tree could be made a convenient and attractive place for the traveling pub- lic. The main thing wanted is clean- liness, Order and attractiveness. will follow.
