The Sheriff’'s Brother, the thrilling Essanay Western featurc at the Breed today tells of the vounger of two brothers, being punished by his mother for stealing, and his ruraing away, to spite his family. The sorry mother, on her death bed, begs the older boy to trace out his brother, so almost immediately he starts for the west, where the youthful miscreant said he could be found. The older boy be- comes the sheriff after a while, and is crdered to capture a dangerous outlaw who is said to be concealed in the vicinity. Anxious to make a good showing in the new capacity, the sheriff organizes a powerful posse, who start after the criminal, To head off the fellow, the posse divides, the sheriff going alone to the rear of the shack where the much-wanted man is holding the mob at bay, and surprising him covers him with a revolver and discovers that he is none other than h vounger brother, The culprit begs his brother to arrést him, but the brother urges him to make good nis escape. This the hoy re- fuses to do, and rather than place the | sheriff in a bad light, he draws his | revolver, and kills ;'imself, the mob waiting for the sheriff’s signal rush- | ing in, only to find the men in each others arms, Some screaming summer Biograph comedy, is also on the bill and the balance is given over to splendid dramas, of the usuai high standard.
