Big Snapping Turtle Captured. ‘The “father of them all,” the big- gest snapping turtle ever captured in Bristol, was taken on Friday afternoon by George Bushnell of Fail mountain out of the “old reservoir” on South mountain. Mr. Bushnell discovered the turtle sunning itself on the shore of the reservoir and before it could get back into deep water he hit it over the head with a club, stunni it. The turtle weighs 45 pounds and evidently is of great age, possibly 100.yvears or more. The customary “fattening proc- ess” will take place and following there will be a turtle soup. Middletown.—During July 45 deaths occurred in Middletown, over a third of which were at the asylum for the insane spending her vacation with her father on Grove street.
