The meeting closed with All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Miss Abbie Swan and Mildred Swan spent Tuesday with Mrs. Nathan Bushnell and Mrs. Charles Bushnell of the Old Canterbury turnpike. The strawberry supper which was held at the church Tuesday evening was well attended, a good sum being realized, Birthday Party. Misses Gladys "and Alice Leffing- well celebrated their birthdays which occurred n far apart, at the home of Miss Alice’'s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Silas Leffingwell, at East Great Plain, Wednesday afternocn. The afternoon passed altogether too quickly for the merry party of twenty-five, playing many kinds of games. A peanut hunt was enjoved, Miss Frances Odg- | ers being the lucky one to find the most.. She received a prize of a cup and saucer. The dinning room and veranda Wwere artistically trimmed with red, white and blue bunting, flags and flowers, At 5 o'clock supper was served. Mrs. Silas Leffingwell and Mrs. Forrest Leflingwell were assist- ed hy Mrs. George Sheldon and Miss Ruth Palmer in serving. The party departed in the evening, declaring the Misses Leffingwell fine cutertainers. Mr. and Mrs. Leary of Fitchville were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Nolai. The graduating exercises of the class of 1911 of Woodstock academy were heid Friday afternoon. Burton Leavitt had charge of the music. Prayer was offered by Rev. R. R Kendall.
