A number are to unite with the church at the next communion the first Sunday in July. FUNERAL. Mrs, John Lummis. The funeral of Mrs. Rowena C. Lum- mis, widow of John Lummis, was at- tended at the Congregational church on Thursday at 1.20 p. m. Rev. Harry C. MeKright conducted the service. A | quartette. Mrs. William Smith, Mrs. Andrew M. Injured by Fall. Little Sybyl Converse was severely iniured on Monday afternoon when she fell, striking her right temple on a stone. P Mrs. Joseph E. Marcy’s Death. Mary A. Marey, wife of Joseph Ed- win Marey, former residents and na- tives of this town, died in Pasadena, Cal, on June 1, after remaining in an uneonscinus condition from May 28, having been stricken suddenly with a shock. Ske was born in Eastford, Mary A Skinner, the oldest of threc daughters of the late Capt. Jonathan and Mrs. Mary Skinner. She was united in marriage early in life with Joseph Edwin Marey, who was a sol- dier in the Eighteenth Connecticut regiment. After the war they settled in Webster, Mass. He was a prosper- ous and successful hardware dealer there for a number of years. He was associated in business with the late Cvrus Spaulding. Nearly three years ago he sold his interests in Webster 2nd removed to California with the in- tention of spending the remainder of his life there.
