Hard practice will b gin tomorrow and al the crews will be out on the river twice a dav. weather conditions permitting, from now until the day of the race. - All the men seem to e in good condition. They will have two weeks for some hard work and trials over the four mile course, and then four days for the final tuning up. The race will be than the date usually selected. Thus far the crew has not been sent over the full distance on time. Before the race ,with Cornell the crew was given several long, easy paddies. but all their hard work was in short Cornell race the men were given easy time for several davs, and I week they were sent on long strat at a low stroke. Some days the-crew caverad more than ten or & dozen miles in an afternoon. paddling for the greater part of the time at 26 or 2§ strokes to the minute. Probably this | week the men will be tried out more than once on the four mile eours: at a racing clip. Lacking Power at Finish of Stroke. The one noticeable defect in the iack of power and drive at the finish. To some it has seemad that the men were golng too far back on the finish of the streke. so that it was impossi- bla for the men to keep their full power sustained until they were ready to coma out for the next stroke. The last week has seen some change n this respect. The men are sitting up nearer the perpendicular at the fin- ish and the oars are taksn out of the water when the full power of the stroke ie exhausted.
