Morley, Norwich, Conn. | Commencement at Northfield Seminary | The Northfield Seminary has been most fortunate in securing Rev. F. B.| AMeyer, D. D, of Lendon, to give both of the' principal addresses to the stu- dents at its coining commencement. Dr. | Meyer, who is pasior of the. Regent Square Baptist chureh of London, will arrive in New Yeork from Kngland on June 3d. After delivering a series if | addresses in Chicago, he will return to | Northfield by June 10th, preach the sermon to the grduating class on Sun- day, June Lith, and undoudtedly con- duct other services on that day. On! Tuesday, June Sth, he will also deliver the commencement address. On June 7th_Prof. William Hammond, organist of ‘Mt. Holvoke college, will give a re- cital on the largest pipe organ in the | auditorium, which/will be open for the | first time this season on that date. The Northfield Seminary is unique in the opportunities it offers tosworthy girls, of very limited means. From tmong the 1,700 who have attended the seminary in the past thirty years many hundreds have graduated and gone through college who would not otherwise have been able to obtain an | education. Many others who could not finish the full course are leading liv: of usefulness all over the whole coun- try. Directly after the commencement Is over, on the 12th, Dr. Meyer will begin in tle Chapel of Mount Hermon school, across the river, a special course of Bi- ble lectures to continue through the weelc. Those coming for the North- field exercises will siso take this op- portunity to visit Mount Hermen school and at the same time hear Dr. Meyer. For over twenty vears he has been a growth of Northfleld summer confer- ences, called by Mr. Moody on this side active in uplift other public movements for of the nation, especially in the recent struggle over the educational bill. Dr. Meyer will return to Englana the last of June, after attending the | National Baptist convention in Phila- delphia, on the 1Sth of June. Tos Kind.
