Johnson of Elliotts, died Wednesday ng at the Day-Kimball hospital from chron- ic nephritis. Thomas Ki Thomas Kiernan, 59 years of age, died at his home on High street on ‘Wednesday morning. Widow of Neff Testifies. Mrs. Ethel Neft, widow of the de- ceased Neff, then ook the stand. She testified, that she had been married five years and during the; past two years has lived at Clark’s Corners in & house owned by Mr. Noff. She said that Neff was .at home Sunday, the day before he was killed, and that he did not go to work Mon- day, the 19t} of Decmber, as it rained and Mr. Neff could not work out in the woods on rainy days. Neff left home about 7.30 the day he was killed and. said he was golng to Jewett's store and. several other places. She did not see him alive after that. Station Agent Jewett's Festimony. Allen Jewett; station agent at Clark’s Corner, testified that Dorous came to his house Tuesday morning, December 3 a m. and said that at his (Dorous’) house /and that.he wanted Someone to call\ Dr.” Knight, the medical.examiner, and.asked Mr. Jewett to send someome to tell Mrs. Neft as he (Dorous) would not. Mr. Jewett went to Dorous’ house and.saw Neft lying on the floor. Dorous was there and one woman came-through the room. ‘What Sarah-Lambert” Told. Miss Sarah Lambert (colored) then took the stand. She had lived with Dorous at Clark rners about & year before Neff was found dead at the house. A boy-of his, about four years old, also lived with them. She said that on the morning of December 19; 1910, Dorous left for Putnam on the 7 o'clock train ‘and returning about 8.30; bringing Neff with him. Dorous brought from Putmam 2 bot- tles of rum, one bottle of gin and a bottle of wine, 'Miss Lambert's sis- ter, Annié- Watson, was at the house &nd they all drank and had a good time: About noon Dorous went out of the room and went to bed, but Nefr, Miss Lambert and the Watson girl stayed and kept driiiking.
