Velvet Mill Flags at Half Staff. The flags on the Rossie velvet mill have been at half mast for the past three days out of respect for Keinbert Rossie's father, who died on Saturday in Germany. 'The funeral will be held there today (Wednesday) and the Ros- sie mill of this place will be closed all day. Both the American and German flags are at half mast. JEWETT CITY Six Year Old Allen Bugbeo Slides the Wheels In Sylvandale, about four o'clock Tuesday _afternoon, Allen _Bugbee, aged 6, was on his sled on the side- walk in front of Perle Melvin's house as a large team, loaded with phos- phate, driven by Fred Church, who is employed by Harry Fitch of Lisbon, was driving along. Without warning, the child suddenly elid off the em- bankment and '{.,:f,' direct]y under the wagon wheels, Before the driver could stop his team the wheel had passed over the boy. The driver jumped off the team, carried the boy into the house, and Dr. R, R. Agnew was sum- oned. The boy’s meck was. broken, nd also the left arm. He lived_ten minutes after the doctor's arrival. He was a handsome, bright lad, the oldest of three children of Mr. and Mrx. Merton Bugbee. There is no blame attached to the iriver of the team, as the accident was entirely unavoidable on his part. Miss Bothwell Has Chance for L. vid Bothwell returned Tuesday morning from Dover, N. H., where he went to see his sister, Miss Martha Bothwell, who is il with pneumonia.
