Sweeney, counsel for Willis Almy, entered a demurrer to the obmplaint against his client at the Friiay sesslon of the third district crurt, Judge Oliver H. Williams pre- siding. Almy is charged with keep- ing with intent to sell, offering for sale, and selling to Vincent C. Still- man, spirituous and intoxicating lig- uors’ adulterated with methyl alcohol. Judge Sweeney claimed the complaint was bad as two officers were specified in one count, and that the charge of keeping with intent to sell was a gen- eral term and not applicable to Mr. Stillman. It was necessary to be specific in cases of this kind, he and that every word in the complaint means something. #nd that it was essential to state just what kind liquor is alleged to have been so! to Mr. Vincent. Town Solicitor Agard claimed that thg language of the statutes were used in ‘the complaint and that it did show sufMcient particularity as to the liq- uor sold. Judge Williams took the papers and reserved decision. and attorneys were iven until next Wednesday to file any additional authorities - bearing upon the case.
