The Nprwich City Athletic leagge, with the object of promoting all kinds of athletic sports, came into existence Mondzy evening at a meeting held by H. Bowen and Joseph P. Desmond. For the present the new league will con- fine its activities to baseball and the three directors will be the respective of the Norwich Town, Greeneville and Central baszball teams. At the meeting Tuesday night a con- stitution was adopted, officers were elected. and a baseball schedule of twelve weeks, beginning Aug. 14 and ending Oct. 30, was decided upon, be- sides nunterous other matters of detail incident to the smooth runming of a league. = The league will start with three teams, although tha'constitution pro- ides that this number may be raised to six. Each manager is to carry twelve men, and no players are to be barred, the list to be given to the secretary on the Friday evening before the game to be played. The managers may be compelied to strengthen their teams if such changes may seem necessary for thebest interssts of the league. The managers have posted their forfeits to carry out the season.
