The Adam Forepaugh and Sells Brothers' Big United Shows present along with their comedy department this year numerous prominent jesters, commonly called “clowns.” Along .V\,'I(h the principal jester and associated with him are 49 kings of the clowning world. These funny chaps assist with comical antics, presenting a world of topical stunts. When intermingling with citizens on the street none of them would be sus- pected of wearing the loose robes of a fool, but when they are in the ring with their makeups on they laugh and the crowd laughs with them. A jolly lot, and they have certainly helped to unioad at least temporarily the cares from the minds of thousands of peo- le. P lowning is an art of itself; the best clowns are born, not mads. The fun- meking department of the Forepaugh and Sells Brothars' circus is fully up 1o the high standard of its other de partments; in fact, many a person wi testify to the statement that the clowns | with this show are worth the price of admission. Their work is appreciat- ed. as the present strenuous life of most people causes them to relish a little pure nonsense now and then. Evervthing in all departments of the Forzpaugh and Sells Brothe circus this wear is positively new, refres = and up to date. Among the principal acts appearing in this (ountry for the first time are Captain Webb's double troupe of seals: the Karl Handley troupe; the Hines-Kimba family champion acrobsts from Europa2: Al- pine troupe, wizards of the wire; Joe LaFeur; the celebrated Avalon com- ny; famous butterfly Ty-Bells; Ada Il Edwards, the Australian Amazon, strongest woman ever known; Laffe Kenyon fam Marje Moaers g Rooneve and scores of other: Tomorrow will be circus day in Nor- wich. The parade will be upon the gtrests about 10 o'clock in the Hornina. Tickets may be obtained in advance at the Broadway pharmacy. BREED THEATER. White Fawn’s Devotion, Thrilling In- dian Story. A great novelty in the motion pic- tura line is the feature at the Breed theater for today and the two days following, It being one of the first pic tures made by the famous Pathe Freres of Paris of an American story enacted by representative American actors upon American soil. It was produced under the direction of a na- tive Indian chief and acted upon the plains, and tells of a plaineman who marries an Indfan maiden and eight years later receives word of an estate that has bean left him near New ork. and the Indian wife feels that she stands in the way of his advancement and attempts to kill herself, and the husband, discovering her, picke up a knife, and their child, seeing her fathar | with the knife in his hands, presumes that he killed her and hurries to her Indian relatives, telling the news. Of course, tha spirit of revenge is upper- | most in the Indian minds and after a | sensational fighting chase they capture the father and are about to administer justice when the wife rushes up, hav- ing only been in a swoon, and mutual explanations and pardons follow, and | the family despart for their old home, feeling that the native life is preferable | to the eastern legacy. A big Blograph feature picture en- titled A Chrld’s Impulse is on the pro- grammz and is a drama of the highest | } type. Mr. Plouf remains with the Breed | and will eing the latest illustrated songs.
