Bowen is keeping close tabs on Putnam's milk supply, regularly sampling the pro-| duct offered for walé here. Mr. Bowen finds the milk uniformly good. He re- cently received a letter from the state authorities in which they rate Put- to be found in some parts of the state: but they also point out that the real test of cleanliness and purity will come with the advent of warm weather:when greater care must be exercised to keep the milk up to the desired standard. As long as it contains less than 500.000 bacteria per centimetre the milk will be regarded as acteptable by the Mspec- tor, but the number of bacteria should not exceed 500,000 in each mentioned measurement.
