Perry Consents to Another :erm as President— E. Pike. The monthly meeting of the Wester. Iy Board of Trade was held Tuesday evening with a large number of mem- Ders in attendance. At the previous ‘meeting a committee was appointed to jominate officers for the ensuing year. hie committee reported through Chair- man E. Howard Clarke, submitting the following officers, the report being ac- cepted and the officers unanimously elected by ballot: Charles Perry, presi- dent; Ira B. Crandall, first vice presi- dent; William Clark, second vice presi- dent; Alberti R. Stillman, secretars Jamés M. Pendieton, treasurer; Audrew M. Fisher, Dr. Edwin Whitford, Irvine O. Chestér, Thomas Hcpe, executive committee for three years. Mr. Clark stated that the committee had to use considerable persuasion to get the officers to accept renomina- tions. President Perry regretted that some other had not been chosen to succeed him, stating that a successor must surely be chosen a year hence. Harry R. Mitchell was unanimously elected to membership. President Perry reported for 'the committee on annual banquet, saying that arrangements were complete for the event, which would be held in the Dixon house on Thursday evening of next week. Speakers of prominenc had been secured. Howard M. Barber was membership ‘and was suspension of the rules. A communication was read from the Merchants' association of New York oposed for relative to reform in freight rates.and | traffic, and asking the Westerly Board of Trade to co-operate in the work.
