There have been installed . at the abutments at the dam of the Falls company above the mill in the Yantic r) 'r, two large water wheels which drive the generator to furnish wiectric power to the Falls company’s mill, in addition to their present wa- ter power, The installation of these wheels by the Holyoke Machine com= pany has been under way for some time and is now completed and ready for Se‘ construction of the story and a hal brick building which will en- close the power plant. This building will be erected above the building of the Chelsea file works, and will be 24x80. It is expected that work on the . building will be started the last of this week or the first of next week, and by two weeks, it is honed, stated Superintendent Henderson, to have the building so far along that it will be possible to install the machinery for generating the electrivity, which has been here some time, waiting to be FIFTH COMPANY VISITED BY LIEUT. COL. DORSEY. Passed a Good Inspection, and Later in {s Evening a Much Enjoyed Spread Was Served. There was a good attendance at the armory on Tuesday evening at the reg- ular dgl of the Fifth company, C. A. €. Lieutenant Colonel Dorsey was present for the inspection of the com- pany and they were ready to receive him and give a geod account of them- selves. Following the drill there was a spread served for the members, and sand- wiches, doughnuts, coffee, grapes, cheese and cigars were there in abun- dance. A soclal time followed, making the evening one of much pleasure. Noank.—Very few of the blackfish boats have ventuved out to the fishing | grounds this week owing to the threat- ening weather. It is planned to use this elec- tris power for the running of the twenty-two machines in the picker room of this mil! and whatever extra power is available will be used for general purposes. This plant will have nothing to do with the lighting of the plant, but will operate individual mo- tors of about six-horsepower each, by which the machines will be Tun. Held at Broadway Church on Tuesday Evening—Excellent Reports from the Delegates to State Convention. On Tuesday evening in the lecture room of Broadway Congregational church there was a social for the teachers and officers of the Sunday school arranged for the purpose of hearing the reports of the delegates to the state Sunday school workers’ con- vention held recentl. Thorough and interesting reports w made by Mrs. W. H. Dawlev and stant Supt. H. W. Gallup. the delegates, while Supt. H. B. Cary also spoke regarding the sessions. W. R. Burnham was in at- tendance at the convention, but the weather prevented his attendance on Tuesday evening. There were twenty-four of the teach- ers present, and following the hearing of the reports refreshments. were gserved under the direction of Miss Marion Beebe and Miss Marion Kim- ball. . A twenty pound ecoon that was caught in a trap by Appleton Maine near Lantern Hill was on exhibition at Potter’s store on Tuesday. Frank A.
