Sleep has been fittingly called “tired nature’s sweet restorer.” 1t is a con- dition in which the involuntary func- tions such as nutrition, circulation, re- spiration, etc., go on as usual, while the voluntary powers are in Tepose, and the system undergoes needed re- pairs. No one has ever been known to live longer than three weeks with- out sleep. It is as necessary in physi- cal économy as food and drink. Insomnia or chronic sleeplessness is a symptom\ with which nearly every sufferer from dyspepsia i§ annoyed, either constantly or at frequent and i regular intervals. This inability ,to sleep normally is a very prominent manifestation of indigestion, and ex- hibits itself in different forms. In some cases sleep may come at its ac- customed time, but it does not bring repose, and the person awakens en- tirely too soon, and fs unable to fall asleep again. In others, the victim lies awake practically all uight, tossing and rolling, and finally drops into a troubled and unrestful slumber at da: break. Still others, though they m: apparently sleep soundly, are annoyed with_the incubus, or nightmare, with its horrors of overwhelming wav falls from precipitious heights and at- infuriated and implacable All of these distressing symptoms| are traceable to an irritated and en feebled stomach, and the same is true of grinding the teeth, and twitching and jerking of the ~muscles during sleep. Insomnia is rarely a disease by it— self, but is nearly always e symptom of another disease, such as dyspepsia, and in treating this compl many persons in their efforts to “woo the 20d of sleep” resort to the use of such nypnotics, sedatives, soporifics and narcotics as the bromides, chloral hy- drate, Dover powders and even mor- phia. No greater mistake than this could well be made, and the reckless use of such drugs has caused many a sudden death, while in other cases, even mod- erate use, has set up an incurable drug-using habit among those who re- sorted to the use of “sleeping pow- ders” To cure insomnia or sleeplessness the object should be to: remove the cause, and as dyspepsia is the under- lying cause in a large percentage of cases, no better or safer remedy can be employed than STUART'S DYS- PEPSIA TABLETS. By digesting every particle of food in the stomach, the active and exciting cause of in- somnia fs cut short at its source and removed. These tablets contain only whole- some ingredients, and there is no dan- ger of falling into drug-using habits from their use. Every sufferer from insomnia should avoid the egregious error of using hypuotic drugs, as they never cure the trouble, but only make matters worse in the end. Begin taking Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets at once, using one or two after each meal, and the same number at bed time. It is also well“to have a box of these powerful digestives close at hand during the night, so that in case you are troubled with dyspeptic insomnia, uneasiness in the stomach, or any other symptom of indigestion, quick relief may be obtained. Purchase a package from your drug- gist at once for 50 cents. and get rid of your insomnia and indigestion. Send us vour name and address for sample package. Address F. A.
