From Thursday, Oct. 7th Until Saturday, Oct. 23d. A Description of “The Teiler” In this picture Herbert de Mareau depicts a man of years at work in an old shop where he makes horseshoes. The figure stands out from the canvas. Through the dusty cobweb-bed win- dow comes the clearness of daylight that falls on one side of his face and clothes. On the other side is the fire- light glow from a half-covered forge. The fire is hidden by a screen, buf the light is thrown into the room from an opening, and the smoke curls up in a most natural way. There are many details worked out —the 0ld_oil can, the open drawer, re- flection of the light on the hammer and other articles in the shop. A cordial invitation is extended to all to come and see the most remarka- ble painting ever brought to Norwich 1t is absolutely free of charge or other obligation to our patrons, and is worth coming many miles to see.
