Therefore Senator Arnold’s renom- ination is considered a sure thing and he will be elected to succeed himself, | and Representative Albert H. Down on the Shore road surveyors are establishing a grade from Avondale where the road intersects the Watch Hill road to Brightman’s pond, and as s0on as this is completed contract will be given for the rebuiiding of that road up to the excellent standard es- tablished by the state committee on raads. Then there is another stretch of road that wil be built with the least posible delay, as contract has been awarded to Bryan F. Mahan, of New London, and work will be dommenced on the road this week. That is the four mile stretch from Pleasant street to the Potter Hill bridge and known as the Potter Hill road, which extends into the village of Ashaway and be- yond. "It is understood that the work on this road will be commenced at the bridge and proceed towards the village of Westerly, and will be pushed for- ward as rapidly as possible. James O.
