Wauwinnet A 14d ‘ A petition was received from tax- pavers at Watch Hill asking for the removal of crosswalks which had be- come dangerous to motor vehicles, their occupants and to, pedestrians. Frank P. Sproul appeared for the Watch Hill Tmprovement societ: stated that there were over one hun- dred automobiles at the Hill and that there was damage to the machinery and inconvenience to the riders by these crosswalks, which were above the street level. On motion of Coun- cilman Flynn, the petition was re- ferred to the highway committee with power. Councilman Culley had obtained the signatures of property owners in Geerge street waliving the public hearing in the matter of grading and ourbing that street. The customary vote was passed and in due tipe a commy'tee will be appointed to fix'the grade ‘subject to the approyal of the Parties directly interested. The petition for a gfade for Wan- namunnit and Wonema avenues at Watch Hill, and for gutters and curb- ’ng, so that property owners could lay sidewalks, wa$ referred to Coancilman Burdick, the member from the Watch Hill district, to investigate and report. It is probabls that at the next meet- 1 of the council thers will be a town solicitor appointed, and the vote be re- seinded which declared that should be appointed.
