Tonight is slatéd for the second: of the feature nights at Lincoln park. The first, one week ago, was a night of roman i dles and pinwheels. This time the display will be principall rockets, and tonight has been des ed as rocket night by the manage- ment, which remarked, in announcing the event, that the display should prove weil worth seeing. The regular even- ing show, commencing at 8.7, will end at 9.45, and then will come a short re- cess for dancing in the pavilion and for strolling about the grounds. The first rocket will be sent up at 10.05 sharp, and the last one will be out of the way by 10.30. The last car for th city leaves the park n at 11.05. Morrow and Heins have a merry minstrel act, full of clever jokes and _songs that make a hit. Rice and Elmer in “A Rube in Chinatown” are excruciatingly funny. Mr. Rice being a capital China- man and Mr. Elmer a mirth provoking country greenhorn who goes out to see the sights of the city. Sunday the usual free concert will com, at 3.20. A society that has exhausted all the familiar sensations is naturally upon the search for new ones. Although going barefoot is a custom as old as the hills, there is novelty in it to those who ordinarily wear shoes. The cult of unshod feet has on various occasions been preached for me purposes; the disciples of Father Kneipp a few years ago made a great ado over it, Playing croquet with bare feet s what “smart” Yeople are said to be doing in England’ just now, is a fresh development of this phase of the simple life. Two reasons are offered for the prevalence of the rather outre practice.
