A gang of men from' the Scott Wreeking compahy were engaged on Thursday in removing boulders near Pawcatuack rock in the Pawcatuck river in completion of the government contract in-dredging the river. There were 698 registrations.made in Westerly and that number of register- ed voters are qualified to vote in the November election. Last year the reg- istration was 793, and in 1807 the number registered was 558. This does not include the real estate and per- sonal property voters, who are not re- quired to register. The New England Navigation com- pany has renewed a four years' lease with the steamboat commissioners of the town of New Shoreham for the operation of the steamer New Shore- ham. By this lease not only will the steamer continue to make regular rips between Providence and Block Island, as heretofore, but will extend them to Stonington during July and August.
