Judging from the appearance of the ictures In the lobby of the Auditorium r the vaudeville bill at that popular ayhouse this week, there will be Eenty of fun in the show. The Waldron Brothers are two gen- ne Dutchmen and their makeup alone a scream and thelr rapid fire con- rersation is up to date and original. The Vincent Bisters are a pair of sprightly soubrettes with catchy songs and a routine of dancing that s bound to _please, Jim Hussey presents a unique and original character in which he imitates a Hebrew messenger boy. ' Jimmy comes direct from New York, where he created a favorable impression. A novelty act is presented by the original De Vole Bros., who perform many amazipg feats of skill and etrength while suspended in midair. For Monday, Tuesday and Wedmes- day Edison's startling subject, A Cry from the Wilderness, or A Tale of the Esquimaux and the Midnight Sun, will head the list. The scenes in this pic- ture were taken from life in northern Alaska and are, to say the least, out of the ordinary. The comed- features will be The Crazy Barber, An Expen- ritve Skyplece, Drawing the Color Line, ete. BREED THEATER. Fish Pirates, Feature Picture. The Moving With the presentation of the above named picture the Breed thehter has one of the strongest pictures in the moving picture fleld. This is & thrill- ing story of fllegal seining, which if persisted in would soon drain every lake and stream of the fish, so enor- mous are the quantities taken In this manner. A flsh warden is appointed, whose duty it is to stop this thing, and @s a consequence there is no love lost between the fish pirates and the war- dens. In this case the pirate has an attractive daughter who Is in love with the fish warden and whose sence of duty Is so great that he attempts to capture the young lady’'s father in the act of drawing the seine, but is in- Jured by the accompanying ates and tled to a solitary spile, where he ig left to the mercy of the tide, which rises inch by inch until it reaches his mouth, when he manages to loosen the gag, and his cries for help are heard by the young lady in the case, who comes to his rescue. The esteemed New Haven Register waxes sarcastic at the Republican’s praise of Highway Commissioner Mac- Donald. The Republican stands pat. Here is a highway commissioner who is being treated like a highway- man because he insists on taking a large view of things. The easy thing for him to do would be to surround each city and each considerable town in dhe state with a network of good roads leading to nearby points and ending in nothing. Every locality would then think he was the greatest highway commissioner that ever grew. Instead he has mapped out a com- prehensive scheme for the entire state. It means, when complete, real Inter- urbian communication, with trunk lines of state roads to be filled in later with improved local highways. That is what we ought to get for five million dol- lars, not simply a few nice drives around the principal centers of popu- lation. Thag is what MacDonald is working for, and as he is busy fighting off politicians who want to help him spend that $5,000,000 the hewspapers ought to hold up his hands and not criticise a big job only just begun. MBrother MacDonald is an enthusiast on roads, lives with them and dreams about them. He is doing a work which is worth many times what he and his automobile cost the state. If he were foxy, he would find out where the newspaper editors live and send a stone crusher and a steam roller to build a mile of road in front of each editor's hous: d then criticism would stop. But he isn't wasting the state's money by frittering it away on small schemes.
