For the winners, the dodging and basket ghooting of Caron in the <erond half was the feature of the rapid game and Gartland for the losers was the star performer in the scoring line, having a marvelous eve for goals from the foul line. Of these he got four in the first perlod, which was half the score for the Ali-Stars. Penalties were called more_frequently on the home team, and Gartland’s accuracy was a powerful factor in this half, but he missed a number of ghots in the se ond, whenthey would have turned the tide for the All-Stars. In the first half the clever passing game of the visitors had the locals guessing some and the Danielson five finished in the Jead 8 to 6. By close guardin, the Tigers broke this up some in the second period, while playing a fast and furious game for the basket, at which they kept a rain of shots fly- ing. Caron was all over the court and quickly put the Tigers in the lead, 10 0 8, by two shots in succession made after ducink away from his guard. Gartland pulled the Stars up a point on a foul goal, but Parsons shot one from the center of the floor for the Ti- gers. Mellor slipped in one for the All-Stars and Gartland got an open shot, putting them in the lead, 12 to 13.
