Following is the statement of the national executivé committee: - & After a careful consideration of existing conditions in the League and League publication organizations, the’ national executive committee finds it necessary to instruct the League pub- lications to reduce the number of is- sues at once. The official League state papers in .nine states where they are published and the national magazine, the Non- partisan Leader, in future will be is- sued once every two weeks in place of every week. This will give members in practically all League states a paper every week, because the national paper will be published the week when the state paper is not published. The publication organization will make an announcement of the dates when this change will be effective. The date of change will be as soon as it can con- veniently be arranged by the publica- tions. 5 : : The reason for this reduction in the number of papers going to League members is that, with publication costs what they now are, it is no longer possible, for the present mem- - bership fee, to issue so many papers and at the same time keep up and ex- tend the League organization. The publications are. now. using paper that costs 16 cents per pound.
