Look out for the men who réfuse to advertise in the i -at one writing. prta 2 — N .‘J‘7 v ~ Let Your Money Work For You—Not Against You The power of the organized farmers extends to buying as well as to selling, to advertising as well as to politics. When you were a loose, unorganized, scattered horde, the politician, the big merchant, the 'manufg, gturer, the advertiser, did not have to consider your interests. The “farm paper,” too, could do as it was ordered to do in the interest of those who made money out of the farmer—not in the interest of the farmer. Now it is beginning to be different. They are beginning to réspect the power of the organized farmers. You - can increase that respect by the result of the elections this year. You can increase it also by the manner in which you do your trading in the meantime. ) o Make Your Organized Power Felt-_--.-:_ You can do it in selecting the firms to patronize. Much of your goods is bofight on advertising. You decide between appliances and machinery and household goods by what you read in advertising and what%ou know of the character of the firms which advertise. ; - There is another test, justgas important. Look out for the firm that will not advertise in the farmers’ paper, Look out for the firm that is not willing to let the farmers exercise their full rights of citizenship. Look out for the firm that is fighting the efforts of the farmers to get more money for their products by running the robbers out of the:market place. AR Sk Is the man who is in league with a thié—} any better than the thief? Is the man who tries to stop sound, con- structive and wholesome reforms, a man who is not willing that farmers should exercise their rights at the ballot, a safe man to support? bl : : ; There are adve;fisérs who believe in fair play. There are advertisers who let flieir_ products speak for themselves and who dp not carry on a political fight to prevent . the farmers from exercising political power. 3 : A man who is willing to rely on the merit of his goods and does not carry on a political fight to “protéét” his business is a safe man to patronize, is"he not? . gt e & Try out the advertisers who use the columns of the Leader. You W’lfl find that as a rule they are in business »'" Leader, for political reasons, who are carrying on a fight against the ‘organized farmers. | f There’'s a DOUBLE GAIN in patronizing Leader advertisers. Every cent you spend with them i»rings mére ad- vertising. Every ad they put in helps us to give /you a better paper. Every cent of the :dv,erfising money- COMES BACK TO YOU. Look back over your .files and you’ll find that’s trué. = : SN . i 5 St given in the advertising.
