Everybody’s Coming to the League PlCIllCS The Nonpartisan League is this week Gtartmg' upon a three weeks series of ; pxcmes at which speakers and" candidates will appear before 50,000 or 60,000 -peo- ple of North Dakota before the primar- ies, June 28. The first of these picnics was held at Finley Tuesday, but the real opening of the picnic campaign was that at Hoople, Wednesday, an account of which will appear in next week’s Leader. Arrangements for the Hoople affair in- cluded the abandonmg of plans for sever- al smaller picnics, in order that as many people as possible might hear the leader of the League ticket, Lynn J. Frazier, candidate for govemor at the big open- ing event. Nothing that goes to make such out- Ings enjoyable has ‘been‘ overlooked: - Brass bands will giveconcerts at many of them, there will be baséball’ games between business men and the farmers, sports, athletlc events, egg races for JUST. THE RIGHT DOPE - Leader Helps Mémber: Appeal to Non- . Member Editor Nonpartisan Leader: = Will you kindly mail me eight coples of the Leader of May 18. I wish to distribute them between a few of my neighbors who do not:yet belong to the League. This issue furnished just the dope I was looking for. The pious gentleman publishing the Bismarck Daily Tribune has sent me a number of copies of said paper during the last week absolutely free. (Wonder- ful how generous they have become all of a sudden.) But evidently they ex- pect compensation in some other form, which was easy to understand by a number of well marked articles. Wonder if it don’t seem somewhat queer to some of the thinking men who may happen to take a squint at their “rag” that these same upright gentle- men who are guarding the farmers’ interest so closely, do not seem_to know which the grain combihe and milling interest robbed their objects of present affection.—C. A. OLIASON. .FOR COUNTY TREASURER I hereby announce myself a candis date for Treasurer of Cavalier coun- ty, subject to the June Primaries, and will appreciate your support.
