Continued from Page 3 . asking you to vote for them, by acting the part of the politi.cxan. They do not slander and belittle your intelligence and your judg- ment by appointing themselves your guardians—by telling: you that you should vote for them to be saved, politically. They have too much respect for themselves and because they respect them- selves, they respect you and your organization. They know that you have made arrangements to select candidates and are glad to leave the selection to your judgment. They will await your invitation to office as they would to your home. Indeed, these men would no more willingly foist themselves upon you to per- form the sacred duties of the state than they would impose them- - selves upon the sacred precincts of your home. They are real men of honor, built after the type of Washington. They wait till they are invited either to come into your home or to serve you in public office. And, though they may not be invited to hold office they are with you just the same. These men of sincere purpose will still support the men you do select, because they are not self seekers, but seek what you yourselves desire, the common -good. It is not so with the politician, the self seeker, the man in- sincere in his professions. Because he is looking for office for himself he will turn and do all he can to fool you and rend your organization, if he does not get your endorsement. By this test you may know them—if they don’t get what they want, they will lie, knock, bulldoze and destroy. ‘Look carefully for the real men of the Washington type. If you select such men for delegates, they will select men of like calibre to run our government and these men will carry out your program and accomplish the greatest good for the greatest number. But if you listen to the politician and the tools of or- ganized middlemen, we will have builded this organization all in vain. All our work will come to nothing. You must be very careful. Organized greed is at work. They know you have the power to elect whom you will, unless they can disrupt your league, They must either get you to fight- ing among yourselves or go in and control your delegates. They will try to control your conventions first. Already we have un- mistakable evidence from a dozen quarters that an organized effort is being made to get you to select their tools as delegates. If they fail in that they will attack your organization in every conceivable way; even murder has been done a thousand times to destroy organizations of this kind. Be not sur- prised at anything. They will not easily yield. To maintain a middleman’s business system that pours hundreds of un- earned millions into the coffers of men already defiled with riches they will go to any length. They will spread distrust and suspicion concerning your leaders and they will defile your organization. But have confidence in yourselves and your cause, watch, sit tight and be ready to act. . The battle is now in your hands. You are organized to win. You can win. Gather quietly at the voting place as you would for a school meeting. You know where the voting place is. Go !;hett:e, follow the rules and order of business that you will receive in time. The future welfare of your homes and families depends more upon ‘the way you discharge your duty at these meetings than _upon your labors in the field. The future of the state and its effect upon your lives and fortunes depends upon your conduct at these meetings on February 22nd, Washington’s birthday. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS CALL TO ACTION. DO YOUR SACRED DUTY IN DEFENSE OF YOUR LIVES, YOUR LIBERTY, YOUR PROSPERITY, YOUR HOMES, YOUR STATE AND YOUR COUNTRY.
