The financial gale which has wrecked and damaged #o many operators in Stocks has scarcely affected the quotation of gold. Money is in good demand at 7 per cent in the face of a largely decreased borrowing. A good many stocks which have caused their owners much trouble to earry, are now held quietly by persous to whom they are pledged, and who would become their owners wpon any further decline at the Exchange through a pressure for money. Commercial bills pase at 74@8 for best, and 9@10 for good names.
